Seattle sites to see

Seattle has Many different activities to do with children any day of the week, here are a few of the local favorites, not necessarily by order of preference, just by how they pop into my head ...
Exploring the waterfront includes a waterfront Ferris Wheel on Pier 57 (just built last year), the Seattle Aquarium on Pier 59, lunch at Ivar's (a local legend), or a ride on one of the many Washington State Ferries through Puget Sound that leave from Piers 50 and 52. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/

Along with the waterfront, you can't miss Pike's Place Market (3 blocks above the waterfront at Pier 59) with the world famous fish tossing fishermen. With the original Starbucks Coffee shop and the Beecher's cheese factory  just across the street. And while you're there, don't miss the Gum Wall ...you will be amazed (and slightly grossed out). http://pikeplacemarket.org/

If you can't make up your mind between land or sea, Tour Seattle by land and water on a converted World War II amphibious landing craft on the Ride the Duck tours. Tour.  http://www.ridetheducksofseattle.com/

Woodland Park Zoo which is currently boasting triplet jaguars, twin sloth bears and quadruplet lion cubs...really an awesome zoo http://www.zoo.org/

Chittenden Ship Locks and Ballard fish ladder connecting the inland fresh water of lake Washington to the Puget sound salt water. The sockeye salmon are the first to return to the Lake Washington Ship Canal each year, the early ones usually show up around mid-June and the run normally peaks in early July. Chinook (king) and Coho (silver) salmon runs follow during the summer months. http://www.seattle.gov/tour/locks.htm
Pacific Science Center and Space Needle: a definite MUST SEE for anyone visiting Seattle. Includes IMAX theater, live science shows, laser shows and planetarium http://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/

With the Experience Music Project (EMP) just next door. The EMP Museum is inspired by Jimi Hendrix, and is dedicated to the worlds of rock 'n' roll, pop, soul, funk, gospel, blues, hip-hop, country and, of course, home-grown grunge. a wonderfully unique experience
