Chef-in-residence
Ouita Michel, oversees all culinary operations of the distillery. Influenced by
her grandmothers traditional Kentucky cooking recipes and her mother’s organic
cooking she has created a unique “community farm-based” cuisine. The
imaginative dishes pay tribute to the treasure of traditional Kentucky cooking
while embodying the flair of modern continental entertaining.
The
Bourbon Barrel foods have a hands-on approach to making gourmet food products
that exemplify the rich Kentucky Bourbon Country heritage. With a philosophy of
“slow, small, simple” their products are hand-crafted in small batches from the
best local produce and supplies. Giving them a unique opportunity to develop
strong relationships with the local Kentucky farmers and growers and allowing them the
distinct advantage of seeing the crops grow from the seed to the shelf.
