Magic of a novel

I love books. Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, classics, contemporary, it doesn't matter I love the written word, even if I don't love the particular story. Novels are the best, they are the adventures we want to embark on but probably never will. Noels provide the avenues for every what if, do over, fantasy and dream we may have. Wished to have been a cowboy in the wild west all you need is a little Louis L'Amour. Dream of being a time traveler with a hunky Scotsman, just need to pick up some Diana Gabaldon.  Fantasize about being the fearless leader of a  race of people on a distant planet grab a little Issac Asimov. Maybe you want to get lost in the pages of one of Patrick Taylor's novels and become a doctor in a small Irish village. the possibilities are boundless. Dream it and someone has probably written something like it.

There are no do overs in this world, but novels provide an avenue for the imagination of what a do over might be like. Maybe not a specific moment more so than ones whole life. what if you were born a thousand years ago or maybe five hundred years in the future. They're kind of magical, there really is no other way to describe the feeling of getting lost in the pages of a novel, unable to put it down, unable to not think about it, dream about it or analyze it, it's simply magic.
