Night of the Pregnant Women

Tonight I had eighteen pregnant guests, which isn’t some huge number but when you do the math it’s kind of scary. We’re at ninety-six percent capacity which means we have eighty-two of our eighty-five rooms occupied tonight and with eighteen of those eighty-two rooms occupied by a woman who is seriously showing that means that twenty-two percent of our guest rooms have pregnant women in them.

This may seem like an odd observation and kind of depressing ramble, since it is made late on a Friday night, when I should be out, not at work counting the pregnant women checking in. It’s just kind of an odd anomaly, a pregnant guest here and there isn’t so odd, but at least eighteen is weird enough that after the second one to check-in I started counting.

I don’t know what’s in the water.  I don’t know what’s so special about this Friday night that every pregnant woman and their husbands decided to come and stay here. I guess they’re just having a pre-baby get away. Some morning talk show must have had some topic on pre-baby get always. That’s the only logical explanation for the unusually high number of pregnant  women here tonight.
