Parents are ridiculous. I should make the disclaimer that I am not in fact a parent, however I have seen enough of parenting done right and parenting done wrong to comment a little on the most ridiculous things I've seen lately. The moments in my life where I just sit there slack jawed in awe of the inexcusably terrible parenting choices I play witness to.
I find it unbelievably ridiculous when parents come into the coffee shop with their children, children they can't even get to sit still, children that are running all over the place, not listening or minding a single word their parents say. How do these parents deal with their children you might ask? Do they refuse to get their children a treat? Do they scold their child? Do they leave without getting anything at all? No, the answer is simply "no." They buy extra sugary caffeinated beverages and sugary treats for the children. I am in awe, absolute awe when a parent buys their rambunctious kid an extra sweet vanilla latte or mocha with whip. Their child is unmanageable now, why in god's great earth would they give their child sugar and caffeine, why oh why oh why?
