It's Over

For the last two weeks my life has revolved around the baby shower for my Brother and Sister-in-law. Since it was at my house and since I have this weird tendency to over commit and volunteer to do everything under the sun. From hosting the shindig to baking and doing the cakes. Which I have loved doing immensely. A little hard with everything going on in my life, but it has been my complete pleasure. As long as you don't talk to any of the people I've been short tempered with in the last few days.  It's finally over.

Weeks of crazy grueling planning, days of prep and work and at the end of the day I'm left with a warm fuzzy spot in my heart, a trashed house, a ton of dishes and left over food and cake. At least the leftovers I can pawn off onto everyone else. It's over. now I can go back to my life before I had three different flavored cakes to bake and decorate. I can go back to the distant memory of what it was like to only have to work and do normal around the house stuff. So here I am off to get the first good nights sleep in at least three days, so that I can be refreshed and ready for work in the morning.

 I have to say though, the mass production that was this wonderful event would never have been as successful as it was without the wonderful production of the decorative gift Diaper cake by my oldest brother's girlfriend. Let alone the amazing snacks and appetizers put together by my sister-in-laws family. A wonderful event like today wasn't only a one woman production, it never is.
